The children's drop tower

Jumpin Jack is our juvenile drop tower, built to the scale of the young riders it's for, and it's the largest of the ten children's rides we run. There's a carriage at the foot of the tower - the little ones take their places, the lift carries them up at an unhurried pace, and coming down is the fun part: a run of short drops and recoveries rather than one long fall. They arrive back on the platform bouncing.

It looks the part before anyone gets on, too. When it's running, the whole tower is stitched with bulbs from platform to crown, a painted clown face grins over the boarding platform, and a fan of red, yellow and blue star panels spreads out behind the queue. Indoor or outdoor, it reads as the centrepiece of a fairground from across the site - given 20ft of headroom it fills a hall from floor to roof.

The ride travels and goes up with our own crew, who stay with it for the whole day seeing children on and off before packing it back onto the lorry. Footprint is 75ft x 50ft for a 20ft tower, so we look for 100ft x 75ft of level ground - grass or hard standing, in the open or under a roof.

Jumpin Jack at Your Event

  • Up Gently, Bounce Back Down

    The lift to the top runs at an unhurried pace, and the way down is a chain of short falls with boosts between them. It gives them the feel of a drop tower without the long fall.

    Fairground bulbs dress the tower from base to crown, the clown face keeps watch over the boarding platform and the star panels fill in behind the queue. Once it's running, everything lights.

  • Harnesses in Every Seat

    Secure harnesses hold each rider in the carriage, fastened by our crew as they see the children on and off.

  • Crew Stay With It

    The ride arrives with our own crew, goes up before the gates and stays theirs all day - they load the carriages, mind the boarding platform and pack everything down afterwards.

    Grass or hard standing outside, hard floors or artificial grass inside - any hall needs 20ft of headroom for the tower, and then it fills the room.

    Five million pounds of public liability insurance on every booking, and the risk assessments and method statements can be over to your venue ahead of the day.

Planning the hire

Tell us the event date, postcode, expected numbers and the surface, and we'll come back with a confirmed price.

Day hire starts at £995 + VAT, with our crew staying with the ride to see children on and off, and our generators covering sites without mains. It's our own ride, kept and maintained in the Rotherham warehouse between bookings rather than brokered in from elsewhere. Multi-ride and multi-day bookings are discounted per event. The unit takes a 75ft x 50ft floor with 100ft x 75ft of level ground wanted, and the tower stands 20ft - worth checking against the ceilings for indoor events.

Pair it with the Tea Cup Ride, the Mini Waltzer and the Juvenile Formula beneath it, or with the Dodgems and the Miami Crazy Dance for the older end of the fair.

Common Questions

What is the Jumpin Jack ride?

It's a juvenile drop tower. The children take their positions in the carriage at the foot of the tower, are carried up at an unhurried pace, and come back down through a chain of shorter falls and re-lifts - the big-tower experience scaled to them.

How much does it cost?

Day hire starts at £995 + VAT with the ride crew and our £5m public liability insurance included. Multi-ride and multi-day bookings are discounted, and the delivered total depends on the postcode and the rest of the funfair around it.

How much space does it need?

Footprint is 75ft x 50ft with the tower standing 20ft, and we look for roughly 100ft x 75ft of level ground to put it on. Indoors, any hall needs that 20ft of headroom for the tower.

Can it be set up indoors?

Yes - it works inside on hard floors or artificial grass as well as outdoors on grass, hard standing, concrete, a grass and hard mix, or wood chip. Give the venue's full ceiling height on the enquiry so we can confirm the setup.

Does it need mains power?

Not necessarily. Where the site has no mains, one of our generators travels on the lorry alongside the ride - just tell us the surface and the setup when you enquire.
