Real bumper cars on a fenced track

These are real fairground dodgems, not inflatables. The cars come with the full 75ft x 50ft track, lighting rig, sound system and a trained operator on the controls for the whole event. Around six to eight two-seater cars per rink, depending which one we bring, with the classic rubber bumper ring and the upright electrical pickup poles.

We've been running dodgems at outdoor events since the late nineties. They're the centrepiece - the thing people walk towards when the field's lit up at half five. They work on grass or hard standing as long as the ground is firm and level, and we can set them up indoors in a big enough hall. We bring ground protection matting for the approaches if the field is soft.

Where they really earn their keep is corporate fun days, town fêtes, freshers' weeks, school rewards days and brand activations - the sort of event where someone wants a proper funfair rather than a bouncy castle in a corner. They also pair well with the waltzer, the ferris wheel and the ghost train for a full funfair package - see the Funfair Rides category for the rest of the headline tier.

What's Included

  • Full Track & Cars

The dodgem track, six to eight two-seater cars, the lighting rig and the onboard sound system. The full ride, not a stripped-down version.

  • Trained Operator

One of our own trained operators runs the ride for the whole event. They've been setting this kit up on fields and closed roads for years, not agency staff seeing it for the first time.

  • Delivery & Set-Up

Our own transport handles delivery, set-up and pack-down. Setup takes around two to three hours; pack-down is a bit quicker.

  • £5m Public Liability

Five million pounds of public liability insurance as standard, with indemnity to principal cover when we supply staff. Risk assessment and method statement emailed to your venue before the event.

  • Generator or Mains

The ride needs 16A 240V power or a generator, which we can supply. Tell us what's on site and we'll bring what's needed.

  • Branding Options

The car body shells take removable cut-vinyl logos or shaped wraps - bonnet, sides, dashboard panels. The central control booth has flat panels for vinyl, and the front fascia can take a temporary overlay over the painted panels.

Two rinks in the warehouse

We own more than one dodgem rink. The one we photograph most often is the Euro Star Dodgems - red-framed frontage, a central Ferrari-style horse shield, the right-hand control booth and dense rows of coloured fairground bulbs along the canopy.

The other is the Super Dodgems, which has a taller racing-themed fascia in red, blue, green, yellow and orange, Union flags and chequered flags, F1 imagery, LED strips under the canopy and a projecting central token booth. They're both the same ride underneath - same track, same cars, same footprint. Tell us if the look matters for your event and we'll bring the one that fits.

The car bodies take branding well - smooth moulded fronts, bonnet and side surfaces that take removable logos or shaped wraps, small flat dashboard panels between the steering wheel and the headlamps. The perimeter and rules panels inside the rink can take overlays as long as the safety information stays visible.

Common Questions

How much space do the dodgems need?

The rink itself is roughly 75ft x 50ft (22.8m x 15.2m), but you want to leave room around it - for the queue, the operator booth and the approaches. Tell us the size of the site you have in mind and we'll tell you whether it fits. If it's tight, we can sometimes adjust.

What power do the dodgems need?

16A 240V, which is a standard outdoor event supply. If the site doesn't have power, we bring a generator - we have silent diesels that sit well behind a marquee or out of sight. The ride comes with its own lighting and sound system on the same circuit.

Can the dodgems go on grass?

Yes. Grass, hard standing, indoor floors - all work as long as the ground is firm and level. We bring ground protection matting for the approaches if the field is soft. The one surface that doesn't work is bare outdoor concrete, because the track deck isn't designed to sit on it.

Are the dodgems staffed?

Yes, one of our own trained operators runs the ride for the whole event. They do the safety brief, the start and stop, the speed control and the queue management. They're ours, not agency staff, and they've been doing this kind of work for years.

Can you brand the dodgems?

Yes. The car body shells - bonnet, sides, dashboard - take removable cut-vinyl logos or shaped wraps. The central control booth has flat panels for vinyl, and there's room for a temporary overlay on the front fascia over the painted panels. Send us your logo or campaign artwork and we'll come back with visuals and a fixed quote.
