The stall everyone already knows how to play
Hook-a-duck is about as traditional as fairground games get. The ducks sit along the game board, you're handed a rod with a hook on the end, and you hook one out. There's a prize every time, so nobody walks away with nothing.
Ours runs as a dry stall - the ducks sit on the board in their flight-case unit rather than floating in a trough, so there's no water to fill on site and nothing to go wrong with it. It sets up under our red and white striped gazebo, which gives the stall its fairground look wherever it stands, indoors or out.
One of our team sets it up, runs it for around four hours and packs it down. The hire includes 25 prizes - sweets and lollipops as standard, with the option to upgrade the swag - and for a busy event we can bring extra prizes along at additional cost so the shelf doesn't run dry halfway through the afternoon.
It's the stall we would put first in a row. Set it beside the Grand Carnival stalls and you've the start of a proper carnival row, with the rides - the Dodgems, the Chair-O-Planes - holding the other end of the fair.
