Our Twister is the platform-built Sizzler version of the familiar
fairground ride, also known as a Twist or Scrambler. Its bench cars
sit in groups around three rotating sweeps. The centre turns while
each group circles its own hub, carrying riders backwards, forwards
and round again rather than following one simple circle.
The mechanism is all in view on the raised checker-plate deck, with
red perimeter fencing, painted front panels and a broad illuminated
Sizzler centre sign. Lap-bar restraints are fitted to the bench
cars, and the ride is suitable for adults and children subject to the
rider rules agreed for the event.
It gives a corporate family day or public fair a quicker ride between
the Dodgems and the gentler
Ferris Wheel, while still working for a
mixed family audience.

Bench Cars and Lap Bars
Riders sit together in open bench cars fitted with lap-bar restraints. Exact rider rules are supplied before the event.
Raised Platform
The complete ride sits on a checker-plate platform with entrance steps and perimeter fencing around the working deck.
Illuminated Centre
A bulb-covered Sizzler centre sign sits above the sweeps, with painted fairground panels and lighting around the frontage.
£5m Public Liability
Five million pounds of public liability insurance is held, with risk assessments and method statements available for the setup.

We deliver from Rotherham to events around the UK, either as a single ride or within a larger fairground package.
Space, height and access
The Twister occupies 50ft x 50ft and stands 15ft high. It
needs a 65ft x 65ft working area, allowing room around the
platform rather than placing stalls or barriers tight against the
moving ride. The minimum access width is 7ft.
Send us the site plan, usable dimensions, gate widths and vehicle
route when you enquire. We also need to know about turns, slopes,
overhead obstructions and the ground condition between the road and
the final position.
The ride can go indoors on artificial grass or a suitable hard floor,
and outdoors on grass or suitable hard standing. Outdoor concrete,
mixed grass and hard surface, and wood chip are not suitable for this
installation.
Twister is suitable for adults and children, though age and height
rules apply. Include the expected age range with your enquiry and we
will advise whether it suits the guests attending.

Taken to Telford and Peterborough
We have supplied the Twister with the Dodgems at Telford Exhibition
Centre for a corporate conference, alongside a rodeo bull, fairground
stalls and 1,000 portions of candy floss and popcorn. It has also
travelled to Peterborough for one of our long-term corporate clients.
Those larger jobs are where a platform ride earns its keep. It has a
clear frontage, takes its place naturally beside the other rides and
gives the event another distinct ride pattern without repeating what
the Waltzer or Dodgems already do.
The film shows the centre and three sweeps turning together, with the
bench cars changing direction as they travel around the platform. It
gives a better account of the ride than a photograph taken between
cycles can.
