The Matterhorn is a full-size mechanical fairground ride. Two
riders sit side by side in each suspended cart while the ride turns
around a raised track that rises and falls around the centre. As it
gathers speed, the carts swing outwards and lift above the deck.
The photograph shows the ride at rest, which is useful for seeing
how it is built: red two-seat carts hung from radial arms, a broad
silver loading platform, speaker stacks at both ends and a painted
MATTERHORN frontage running across the back. The film below
gives the better account of what those carts do once the ride is
moving.
Smoke machines, lighting and the sound system are included. It is
the quicker end of the funfair line-up and works well as a
centrepiece for corporate summer parties, large private events and
public fun days, particularly alongside the
Dodgems or
Ferris Wheel.

Generator Required
The ride requires a generator. We can supply one where the site has no suitable provision; its size and cost are confirmed with the event quote.

The starting price covers a day hire. Multi-day and longer-term bookings can be quoted with the applicable hire discount.
Space, height and access
The ride occupies 75ft x 50ft and stands 20ft high. We ask
organisers to provide a 100ft x 75ft working area so there is
proper safety clearance around the ride rather than fitting the
platform tightly between other attractions.
It can be installed outdoors on grass, concrete, tarmac, hard
standing, mixed ground or wood chip. Indoor installation is also
possible where the building has enough clear height and the access
route works for the ride transport and setup crew.
Send us the site plan, usable dimensions, surface and vehicle route
when you enquire. Gate width, turns, overhead obstructions and the
condition of the route matter as much as the final patch of ground.
