Step through the entrance tunnel into a clear vinyl dome standing 11.5ft tall on a blue snowdrift base, and the scene is already set: an inflatable snowman in his top hat, a red-and-white North Pole marker and snow-dusted trees in front of a painted backdrop of cottage and mountains. Guests pose in the middle of it and whoever's outside takes the picture, or the touchscreen photo station alongside does it - tell us whether you want the pod staffed as standard or run as self-service, and confirm the print package and any bespoke print wording when you enquire.

It's a photobooth and a centrepiece in one unit. The dome reads from a long way off, which pulls visitors across a town square or exhibition floor, and the print gives them a reason to join the queue. Rotherham council's events team has hired it for their town-centre Christmas events, and it sits as happily in a school gym or shopping-centre plaza.

For the full globe effect, faux snow can whirl round guests inside, and the dome itself takes your logo as an in-house vinyl wrap - design, print, fitting and removal are all handled before and after your hire period.

The Snow Globe Photo Pod at Your Event

  • Dressed Winter Scene

    Snowman in a top hat, North Pole marker, snow-dusted tree and a painted alpine backdrop, all inside on arrival - nothing needs setting before the first photo.

  • Printed Photos

    A touchscreen photo station runs camera and printer from flight cases, with the print package and any bespoke framing or event wording confirmed with the hire.

  • Custom Dome Branding

    The dome takes your logo on vinyl transfers sized for the hire period, fitted and removed by our in-house team.

  • Optional Artificial Snow

    Faux snow can swirl inside the dome while the photos are taken - an optional extra that reads properly on camera.

  • Two Continuous Blowers

    The dome stays inflated on two blowers, so it wants a power supply within cable reach. Where there's no mains we quote a generator alongside.

  • PIPA Tested Annually

    Built by Airquee and PIPA tested every year, with £5 million public liability insurance standard on the booking.

Space and site

The unit measures 18.4ft wide x 15.1ft deep and stands 11.5ft tall. It wants a clear 25ft x 25ft floor area, plus a few metres beyond that for the photo station and the queue. Indoors you'll need 13ft of clear height, so school sports halls and exhibition halls are the usual indoor homes.

Indoors it takes hard floors or artificial grass; outdoors, grass or hard standing. It sits out bare concrete, wood chip and mixed outdoor ground entirely - flag your surface when you enquire.

Capacity and queue management

The dome holds up to four adults at 1.8m tall, six up to 1.5m, eight up to 1.2m and eleven up to 1m, and groups are cycled through to keep the queue moving. Names vary - human snow globe, inflatable snow globe booth - it's the same pod.

Hire starts at £895 plus VAT. The giant inflatable snow globe is the bigger solid-base model at the top of the range if you need more people through, and the Deluxe Santa's grotto alongside it gives visitors two reasons to queue at a Christmas event.

The pod is our own equipment, kept, maintained and delivered from the Rotherham warehouse, so what turns up is the kit the gallery was photographed with.

The print is the working end of the hire

Visitors pose inside the whole winter scene rather than in front of a wall, and the photo through the clear dome is what people put on the mantelpiece. At council-run events the message line has carried an events-team credit; at corporate parties it carries the company name; at a trade stand it's the giveaway that goes home with the customer.

The pod has been out to shopping centres, school halls and town squares through past Decembers, and the prints we see afterwards are the best advert for it - people keep them because the scene inside is a proper picture.
