Our Deluxe Santa's Grotto is a Father Christmas grotto people step inside: a printed snowy log cabin, the Santa's Grotto script above the door and the interior lit warm with the lights and decorations already up. Everyone from toddlers to grandparents walks in, and companies often hand their staff Christmas parties over to it as a photo box rather than a queue for Santa.

Blower on to fully up runs under five minutes, and taking it down is a ten-minute job, which is what makes it sit politely inside the rest of an event build. The 12ft by 13ft floor lands in the corner of most school halls and function rooms, and the interior lighting keeps it working from first queue to last visit.

Through December it tours class parties and school fairs, office dos, promo days and community events around South Yorkshire and the East Midlands, bigger bookings taking it nationwide. Indoors: artificial grass or a hard floor. Outdoors: grass or hard standing. Concrete, wood chip and the mix of the two are off the list for this shell - if your pitch is one of those, the cottage is the deluxe that anchors there.

£295 plus VAT opens the range, and some postcodes carry a minimum order amount. Ring the Christmas market stalls around it or lean the mulled wine stall near the queue and the whole booking travels as one.

The grotto queue is the centre of the fair

At school fairs and community events the grotto hauls the parents in as readily as the children, and the queue becomes part of the show. Keep the approach off the main thoroughfare and give the stewards somewhere to stand, and it more or less runs itself.

Corporate winters borrow it as a standalone festive photo box, and the red velvet throne chair - booked separately, fits through the door - gives Father Christmas a proper seat when the visits run all afternoon.
