Our Santa's Grotto is a walk-in inflatable Christmas log cabin, printed wood-grain walls outside and a fireplace, stockings and printed tree inside. The set comes complete rather than bare - wreath archway over the entrance, freestanding inflatable Santa and snowman props flanking it, white picket fencing around the approach, tinsel and baubles, and a "Santa Stop Here" sign - so the display holds together as one picture from thirty feet away.

It inflates in under five minutes and packs down in under ten, which matters when the grotto has to go up in a school hall at four o'clock for an evening fair. At 10ft by 10ft on the floor it fits places the bigger grottos don't, and children and adults can both visit.

The full set - grotto, fencing, props and sign - tours office parties, community days, school Christmas fairs and town-centre pitches over South Yorkshire, the East Midlands and past both, and spent a day on the stadium concourse at a Rotherham United Community Sports Trust event. After one children's-party hire the message back read: "Thanks so much for the grotto for our children's party - it was absolutely amazing and everyone loved it."

Size and site plan

The grotto measures 10ft x 10ft on the floor and stands 13ft high. Allow a 12ft x 16ft space with 13ft of headroom, because the fencing and props sit out from the unit itself rather than against it.

Indoors it goes on hard flooring or artificial grass. Outdoors it takes grass or hard standing - concrete, the grass-and-hard mix and wood chip are all off the list. One of those under your venue? Ring first and we'll work the anchoring out together before you commit.

What a grotto does to a fair

On a school fair or a community event, the grotto is the attraction that pulls the parents as much as the children. The queue itself becomes part of the event - families have their photo taken at the fence, and the picket line gives stewards somewhere to manage the flow from.

For a corporate Christmas function it doubles as a standalone festive photo backdrop, and the unit's lights keep it working through an evening switch-on. Rush to a real grotto build and you'll tend to underestimate the approach route - give the queue room and it manages itself.

A continuous supply feeds the blower and the lights. No mains at the venue? Petrol blowers and diesel generators come from us as hire items.

Can you provide staff?

We can send a trained event attendant to hold the grotto all day. Or your own people get shown through at setup and run it - plenty of corporate clients work it as a standalone photo sphere for that.

Is there a bigger version?

Yes - the Deluxe Santa's grotto has a larger 12ft x 13ft shell with a higher-spec printed interior, from £295 plus VAT.
