Underneath the winter dressing this is a Batak Pro, through and through: 12 numbered LED targets on a polished steel frame, the machine racing drivers warm up their reactions on. When a pad lights, you flatten it. Misses count against you, hits count for you, and the twin displays keep both tallies live on the wall so the whole room can see who's winning. Half a minute a round means the line never stalls.

The machine itself comes from Quotronics in the UK - it's the design Jenson Button took to a reaction world record - and carries 30-plus programmes behind the voice prompts. We dressed ours in snowmen, pines and snow splashes for Amazon's Peak Wonderland staff events, and have kept supplying Amazon sites each winter since. Whoever books them there said it better than we would: "We have used them for years here at Amazon events. Very Reliable."

Children play it as readily as adults - the modes let you drop the top rows for shorter arms. Do note what it isn't: a rain-proof machine. It needs a hall, a marquee or a covered corner with a 13-amp supply, but it passes a standard single door and takes an 8ft x 5ft footprint.

    Numbered LED targets across a maximum-stretch layout light randomly or in repeating patterns, on the polished-steel Batak Pro frame.

  • Twin Score Displays

    Two LED panels keep the live tally, and the half-minute challenge is the crowd's standing favourite.

  • 30-Plus Programmes

    The onboard micro-computer cycles through programme modes, a few of which shorten the wall so smaller players aren't chasing targets they can't reach.

  • Tutorial or Attendant

    Your team can be walked through the whole machine, or a trained attendant runs the wall for you, with phone support while the event is on.

  • Leaderboard Available

    Longer bookings can pair the wall with our Peak Wonderland leaderboard hire for a named champion at the end of the night.

  • £5m Public Liability

    Public liability cover of five million pounds rides on the booking, and our own trained team does the delivery, setup and collection.

Size and power

At 2080mm x 950mm x 1950mm - call it 7ft x 3.3ft x 6.6ft - the wall clears a standard single door on edge and keeps its feet inside an 8ft x 5ft patch of floor.

One 13-amp socket feeds it. It lives indoors, or outdoors only under full cover, because the electronics have no weatherproofing to speak of; where the venue has no mains, a generator comes with us.

Nobody else's fleet comes close on Batak numbers - ours is the biggest in the UK - so filling one hall with several walls, or splitting the stock across sites in a day, is routine for us. Come spring it goes back under the stand circuit, and the Whack A Snowman cabinet is its usual Christmas neighbour.

Winter events, warehouse parties and exhibition stands

South Yorkshire and East Midlands bookings carry it to Christmas parties, school halls and corporate dos through December, and the bigger jobs put it warehouse-side, next to a grotto and the rest of the Christmas games. Rotherham fielding it means Sheffield, Doncaster, Barnsley, Worksop and Chesterfield are short runs, and bigger bookings take it nationwide.

The games run themselves, give or take an attendant: half minutes tick by, scores go up side by side, and the leaderboard usually ends the argument about who's quickest. Want it inside a Christmas games row? The quote form is a couple of lines below, or ring the office.

Both ages get a game. A few programmes drop the highest rows, which gives smaller players targets they can actually beat their parents on.

Either way - we'll walk your team through it, or put a trained attendant on the wall, with phone support for as long as the event runs.

Can we run more than one?

Regularly, yes. Our Batak stock is the largest in the UK, so multi-wall venues and split-site days are normal work for us.
