Clowning Around is the tabletop take on a fairground side stall.
Nine painted clown targets sit hinged in a red cabinet under a
yellow frontboard, four on the top row and five below, and a
go is six coloured beanbags, aimed at sending as many of the
clowns down as you can. There's no printed score or display on
the cabinet, so the number of clowns down when the beanbags run
out is the result of the go.
Because the whole game stands on a table, it doesn't need the
floor space a full stall with a gazebo takes. That's what gets
it into the places a row of stalls can't always reach - school
fetes in the hall, fundraisers in village halls, office parties
and indoor fun days through the winter. It works outdoors too,
wherever there's a level table and room behind the throwing
line.
Four painted targets on the top shelf, five on the bottom, each hinged so it tips back when a beanbag finds it.
Six Beanbags A Go
The six coloured beanbags come with the game. A go is all six thrown, and the aim is to finish with as many clowns down as you can.
Tabletop Cabinet
The cabinet measures 50in long by 9in deep by 33in tall and weighs 70lb, so it lifts onto a table in one piece and leaves the floor around it clear.
At Home Indoors
Village halls, school halls, marquees and club rooms are where the small footprint earns its keep. Outside it goes on grass or hard standing wherever there's a level table.
Staffing Your Way
One of our team can run the game and hand out prizes if you don't want to staff it yourselves, or your own stewards can do it. Children under 12 need a grown-up close by while they're throwing.
£5m Public Liability
Every booking carries £5m of public liability, and we'll send the risk assessments and method statements over before the event if your venue or council wants them.
What's included
The Wertz Werkz CAT-101 Clowning Around cabinet
The nine hinged clown targets and six coloured beanbags
Delivery, setup and collection handled by our own crew
£5m public liability insurance on every booking
The cabinet stands on a sturdy, level table, so tell us what
table space the venue has when you enquire. The throwing area
in front of it needs keeping clear, away from the routes
people walk past.
Staffing isn't in the hire price. We can put one of our
qualified team on the game for the day, or hand it over to
your own people - say which when you book.
Tell us the date, postcode and rough numbers, and whether you
want our attendant or your own stewards running the game. A
minimum spend can apply depending on the postcode, and the
written quote will confirm the delivered price.
Setup and supervision are adults-only, and the throwers need
to stand clear of where guests walk - it's the same thinking
as any beanbag game, but it's worth a minute's planning in a
busy hall. If the room's tight, put the cabinet end-on to the
footfall and let the queue form along the wall.
Made for the smaller room
The cabinet is all painted up - red carcass, white line-work
and the yellow frontboard with a star either side - and it's
the sort of game that earns its place at events where a
full-size stall would be too much. The school hall doing a
Christmas fete, the parish room running a fundraiser, the golf
club putting a family funday on indoors.
Set it on a trestle table at one end of the room, keep the
throwing lane clear, and it runs all afternoon. If you've got
the floor space for more than one game, it pairs up with
Tin Can Alley, the
Ball in a Bucket and the
Fish Bowl Challenge.

Common Questions
How much does Clowning Around hire cost?
From £295 plus VAT. A minimum spend can apply depending on your postcode, and staffing is quoted separately if you want one of our team on the game. Send the date and postcode and we'll come back with a delivered price.
How does the game work?
Six beanbags a go, aimed at the nine clowns - four on the top row and five on the bottom, each hinged so it tips back when it's hit. There's no printed score on the cabinet, so the count of clowns down at the end is the result of the go.
How much room does it need?
The cabinet measures 50in long, 9in deep and 33in tall and stands on a sturdy, level table. Leave a clear throwing area in front, kept away from the routes people walk through.
Is it an indoor or outdoor game?
Both, but it's most at home indoors - the village hall, school hall or marquee is where its small footprint does the work. Outside it sits happily on grass or hard standing wherever there's a level table.
Is the game staffed?
The hire price doesn't include staff. One of our qualified team can run it and hand out the prizes if you'd rather not staff it, or your own stewards can run it with your own prizes. Tell us which when you enquire.
Tell us the date, postcode and rough numbers, and whether the
game is going indoors or out, and we'll come back with a
delivered quote. If it's joining a row of stalls, say what
else is coming and we'll price the day as one package. Prefer
